Denis Omedi’s audacious Rabona goal has claimed third place in the 2024 FIFA Best Goals rankings, earning the Ugandan forward international acclaim.

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho won the prestigious 2024 FIFA Puskás Award for his breathtaking bicycle kick against Everton. The Argentine’s stunning strike, scored in November 2023 at Goodison Park, was hailed as the best goal in world football for the year. Garnacho secured the award with 26 points, edging out Yassine Benzia’s impressive goal against South Africa, which finished second.

The FIFA Puskás Award, named in honor of legendary Hungarian striker Ferenc Puskás, recognizes the most spectacular and beautiful goals scored worldwide each year.

Ugandan star Denis Omedi, who plays for Kitara FC and represents the Uganda Cranes, achieved third place with 16 points for his incredible Rabona strike against KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 tournament. Omedi’s goal also earned a nomination for the CAF Goal of the Year, where he finished sixth. Angola’s Cristóvão Mabululu ultimately took the CAF accolade.
