UPL 2024-25 | Fixture
- UPDF vs Wakiso Giants
- Bright Stars vs KCCA
Wakiso Giants will look to extend their impressive start to the Uganda Premier League season when they face UPDF FC at Bombo Military Grounds on Tuesday.
The Purple Sharks have been in fine form, collecting seven points from their first three matches, including a crucial away win against Maroons.
Head coach Steven Bengo is confident that his team is well-prepared for the challenge posed by UPDF.
“We’ve had a good week of training, and the players are ready to give it their all,” Bengo said.
“We’ve made significant progress in implementing our playing style, and we’re confident in our ability to get a positive result.”
While Wakiso Giants will be without the injured Henry Mwebe and Rahmat Ssenfuka, the rest of the squad is available for selection.
The Purple Sharks will be particularly keen to see how their recent signing, Kizito Luwaga, settles into the team.
The match against UPDF will be the 10th meeting between the two sides.
Wakiso Giants have a slight edge in the head-to-head record, with six wins, two losses, and one draw.
However, UPDF will be eager to spoil the Purple Sharks’ party and secure their first victory of the season.
