Uganda Premier League side Vipers ranks as number one in Uganda according to CAF Club Rankings.
Looking at the latest Club Rankings by the Confederation of African Football, Vipers lie 49th on the continent but the best in Uganda.
After the conclusion of the preliminaries of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, CAF issued an updated list of clubs’ rankings.
Yes, Vipers didn’t participate in the continental engagements, but their huge achievement to the CAF Champions League group stages in the 2022-23 season still keeps them on the list.
Vipers’ ranking is a testament that the Kitende-based side has performed well, thus ascending on top of the country’s chart.
KCCA has been holding the position for quite a while, but their poor performance in the previous years has scrapped them off the list.
On the same list, Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns is placed fourth, Steven Mukwala’s Simba is 7th while Young Africans are 13th.
