Vipers SC will be looking to redeem themselves after a disappointing opening-day defeat when they host Express FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Thursday evening.
The match, which will be played under floodlights, promises to be an exciting clash between two of the Uganda Premier League’s top teams.
The Venoms suffered a 3-1 loss to NEC in their season opener, leaving their fans frustrated.
However, captain Milton Karisa is confident that the team will bounce back and deliver a strong performance against Express.
“Our first game ended in a loss, which was disappointing,” Karisa admitted.
“But going forward, we expect better. We are ready to put our bodies on the line to secure the three points.”
Express, on the other hand, enter the match on a high after defeating Mbale Heroes 2-1 in their opening fixture.
The Red Eagles have strengthened their squad with experienced players like Emmanuel Wasswa, Said Kyeyune, and Mustafa Kizza.
Additionally, former Vipers striker Richard Basangwa could make his debut for Express against his former club.
The match is expected to be a closely contested affair, with both teams eager to claim victory and make a statement in the early stages of the season.
