Wakiso Giants registered a 3-2 victory against Maroons in the Uganda Premier League encounter at Prison Grounds, Luzira, on Friday.
The Purple Sharks secured their maiden victory of the Steven Bengo’s era following a 1-1 draw against Bright Stars in the opener.
Marvin Oshaba gave Wakiso Giants the lead as early as the fourth minute to give the encounter a perfect start.
Herbert Asiimwe doubled the visitors’ lead a minute after the hour mark to pile more pressure on to the hosts.
Despite going two goals down in the first half, the hosts pulled back one through Baden Mujaheed Ogama in the 66th minute.
Moments later, Samuel Nsubuga restored the two-goal lead for the Purple Sharks before Ogama scored Maroons’ second.
The victory guides Wakiso Giants to four points in two games played thus far while Maroons remain in 12 position with one point.
Up next, Wakiso Giants will host Mbale Heroes on Friday, September 27, while Maroons will visit Express at Hamz Stadium a day later.
