Vipers SC made an early statement with Allan Okello’s impressive strike just nine minutes into the match. Okello’s goal gave the home side an early edge, but Police FC proved determined to match the pace.
Before halftime, prolific forward Obedi Brian found the back of the net for Police FC, leveling the score and intensifying the competition.
Both sides returned for the second half eager to take control, and the game saw tense exchanges and missed chances from both teams.
The decisive moment came in the 80th minute when Okello scored again, pouncing on a rebound from Saleem Ekbad’s powerful shot that had struck the woodwork.
Okello’s second goal ignited celebrations among the home fans and secured Vipers SC’s lead. With this win, Vipers SC now top the league standings with 13 points, closely followed by NEC FC, who trail by just one point. Police FC, on the other hand, dropped to 10th place with seven points.
As the league heats up, today’s fixtures promise more excitement. Mbale Heroes will host KCCA FC at Mbale Municipal Stadium at 4 PM, while NEC FC will face Wakiso Giants FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo in the early kickoff at 7 PM.
