    • Uganda 2-0 Congo Brazzaville

Uganda Cranes secured a resounding 2-0 victory over Congo Brazzaville in their 2025 AFCON qualifier match at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, on Monday.

Goals from Aziz Kayondo and Jude Semugabi propelled Uganda to a thrilling win in front of a passionate home crowd.

Coach Paul Put made two changes to his starting lineup, bringing in Kenneth Semakula and Muhammad Shaban to replace Elvis Bwomono and Steven Mukwala, respectively.

From the outset, Uganda dominated the game, seeking to establish an early lead.

Kayondo broke the deadlock with a powerful shot that evaded the goalkeeper and found the back of the net.

Uganda continued their momentum in the second half, controlling the tempo and maintaining possession.

Semugabi sealed the victory with a brilliant finish after receiving a cross from Allan Okello.

The win propelled Uganda to the top of Group K with four points, while Congo Brazzaville remained in second place with three points.

Uganda will now turn their attention to their upcoming match against South Sudan in October.

    Uganda Starting XI

Isima Watenga (GK), Kenneth Semakula, Aziizi Kayondo, Bevis Mugabi, Elio Caprodossi, Ronald Ssekiganda, Rogers Mato, Khalid Aucho, Muhammad Shaban, Travis Mutyaba, Denis Omedi
