Serie A side Roma has sacked head coach and club icon Daniele De Rossi due to a poor start to the 2024-25 campaign.
The development was confirmed today, Wednesday, September 18, 25, through a club statement, having left the club close to the red zone.
“The club’s decision is made in the best interest of the team, to get back on the desired path as soon as possible at a time when the season is still in its early stages,” the statement partly reads.

The decision comes shortly after the 1-1 draw against Genoa on Saturday. Roma led the game but failed to guard its maximum points.
The 41-year-old is an idol for Roma fans, having played for the club for several years, but, unfortunately, their relationship will end on a sad note.
Roma host Udinese on Sunday before taking on Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League opener.
