Uganda Premier League newcomers Lugazi FC will travel to Bombo Military Grounds to face UPDF on Thursday, seeking their maiden victory in the top flight.
Both teams are coming off mixed results in their opening matches. UPDF played to a 1-1 draw against Maroons, while Lugazi suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat at the hands of Kitara FC.
Lugazi head coach Sadiq Sempigi is determined to lead his team to a positive result despite the challenging start.
“We have learned from our 3-0 loss to Kitara FC and have been working tirelessly to refine our tactics, strengthen our defence, and enhance attack,” Sempigi stated.
Sempigi acknowledged the formidable challenge posed by UPDF but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to compete.
“This game is an opportunity for us to bounce back and showcase our best performance. We are determined to secure a positive result,” he added.
The match between UPDF and Lugazi marks the first encounter between these two teams in the Uganda Premier League.
