- NEC vs UPDF
Police and Bright Stars will lock horns in a crucial Uganda Premier League match at Kavumba Recreation Ground on Tuesday, both sides desperate for their first win of the season.
The Cops have drawn their opening two games against BUL and Mbarara City, while Bright Stars have suffered a loss to URA after a draw with Wakiso Giants.
Police head coach Peter Mugerwa has acknowledged his team’s struggles in front of goal but believes they have addressed the issue.
“We’ve been solid defensively, but we need to be more clinical in the final third,” Mugerwa said.
“We’ve worked on that this week and hope to see improvements against Bright Stars.”
Bright Stars coach Joseph Mutyaba expects a tough encounter but is optimistic about his team’s chances.
“Police are a resilient side, but we’ve been creating chances,” Mutyaba said. “If we can convert those opportunities, we can get the win.”
Team News:
Gerald Ogweti will miss the game for Police due to suspension.
Bright Stars could be boosted by the return of Cleophus Fiat and David Kizza, who are both undergoing fitness tests.

Police have a slight edge in the head-to-head record, with five wins, three losses, and ten draws in their last 18 meetings.

Both teams are eager to secure their first victory of the season. It promises to be a closely contested match, with Police potentially benefiting from their home advantage.
