Bright Stars FC will host URA FC at Kavumba Recreation Ground on Friday, September 20, in a crucial Uganda Premier League encounter.

Both teams are looking to bounce back from mixed results in their opening matches.

URA suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to KCCA in their season opener, while Bright Stars played to a 1-1 draw against Wakiso Giants.

Bright Stars head coach Joseph Mutyaba is optimistic about his team’s chances of securing a victory in their first home match of the season.

“It’s our first home fixture this season, and we are hoping to start on a high note,” Mutyaba said.

URA, however, has a strong recent record against Bright Stars, having won their last five encounters.

The Tax Collectors’ last defeat to Bright Stars came in 2019, thanks to a goal from Nelson Ssenkatuka.

URA head coach Alex Isabirye believes his team has learned from their mistakes and is ready to challenge Bright Stars.

“We’ve worked hard to correct the mistakes from the first game. The boys have responded well in training,” he stated.

The match promises to be a competitive affair as both teams seek to improve their positions in the league table.
