In a thrilling Uganda Premier League encounter at Kavumba Recreation Ground, Wakiso, on Monday, Police FC fought back from a numerical disadvantage to secure a 1-1 draw against BUL FC.
The match marked Police’s return to the top flight after a two-year absence, and they faced an early setback when forward Gerald Ogweti was sent off for elbowing an opponent.
Despite playing with ten men, Police displayed remarkable resilience and determination.
Both sides created numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match, but neither team was able to break the deadlock before halftime.
In the second half, Police continued to press forward, with Denis Kalanzi coming close to scoring from a header.
BUL also threatened, with Ramsey Kawooya’s powerful shot saved by Police goalkeeper Edward Kasibante.
Isaac Wagoina also had a chance to score but was denied by Kasibante’s quick reflexes.
In the dying minutes of the match, BUL had one final opportunity to snatch victory, but Kasibante once again came to Police’s rescue, saving a powerful shot from Nicholas Mwere.
The draw was a positive result for Police, who showed great character and fighting spirit in their return to the top tier.
