KOBs were crowned champions of Mbarara Sevens. It was the first time KOBs won the National 7s circuit this year.
To reach the mark, KOBs secured a 15-5 victory over the Buffaloes in the final at Kakyeka Stadium on Sunday evening.
Derrick Tukwasibwe drew first blood with an unconverted try before Pius Ogena joined the party with another try to leave the score at 10-0.
Tukwasibwe once again made another try, but once again, the conversion went wrong before halftime as he stretched the score to 15-0.
Ivan Odhiambo pulled back one for the Buffaloes, but the conversion was wrong, and the score changed to 15-5.
To reach the finals, KOBs beat Rhinos 21-7 in the quarterfinals before edging the Black Pirates 12-7 in the semifinals.
KOBs have now won the fourth title in the Western Region games which has become their favourable place to blossom.
Humphrey Ndahura of Buffaloes was named the MVP of the men’s title.
On the women’s side, Avengers beat Black Pearls 20-7 to clinch the title.
Gladys Wirembe of She Wolves was named the MVP of the just concluded circuit.
