    Masaza Cup Final Set for November 2nd at Mandela National Stadium

    Football fever is sweeping across Buganda as the 20th edition of the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup reaches its climax with the final set for November 2nd, 2024, at the iconic Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

    This highly anticipated event promises to be a thrilling spectacle as Kyaggwe Saza takes on Buddu Saza in a battle for football supremacy.

    Kickoff is scheduled for 3 PM, and fans are expected to turn out in large numbers to witness history in the making.

    For the first time in the tournament’s history, Kyaggwe has made it to the final, having fought their way through a tough semi-final against Buweekula, securing a 2-1 aggregate victory.

    The team, filled with youthful talent and determined to leave a mark, is set to take on the experienced Buddu, who are no strangers to the final stage. Buddu comes into the match with confidence, having dispatched Kyadondo with a dominant 4-2 aggregate in the semi-finals, as they aim to capture their third Masaza Cup title.

    While Kyaggwe will be seeking to make their first final appearance a victorious one, Buddu is eyeing another piece of silverware to cement their status as one of the most successful teams in the competition’s history.

    The atmosphere is sure to be electric as both sets of fans, draped in their team colors, cheer on their heroes in what promises to be a fiercely contested final.

    Earlier in the day, the football action will begin with a curtain-raiser classification match at 11 AM, where Buweekula and Kyadondo will face off to determine third place.

    The Masaza Cup, which has been organized by the Buganda Kingdom since its inception, has grown into one of Uganda’s most prestigious football tournaments, drawing attention from across the country.

    It provides a platform for showcasing young talent and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Buganda. Over the years, the tournament has produced some of the country’s finest footballers who have gone on to represent Uganda on both local and international stages.

    As the countdown to the final intensifies, excitement is building, and all eyes are on Mandela National Stadium for what promises to be a day of exhilarating football, with history, pride, and bragging rights at stake.
