Uganda Premier League club Maroons FC has made a significant splash in the transfer market, securing the services of 12 new players ahead of the upcoming season.
The Luzira-based side has added a mix of experienced and promising talent to their squad, including goalkeeper Simon Tamale, who returns to the club after a stint with Rayon Sport in Rwanda.
Hassan Matovu joins Tamale in bolstering the goalkeeping department, while Amir Nalugoda has been retained from the previous season.
Apollo Kagogwe is expected to strengthen the Maroons’ defence, while Jamal Ssemwogerere will add depth to the defensive midfield.
Former Bright Stars and UPDF forward Muwadda Mwajje brings his experience to the club, while Ivan Asaba aims to revive his career at Luzira.
In the attacking department, Ibrahim Dada, Rogers Kiwanuka, Brian Omirambe, and Ivan Mayanja are poised to make a significant impact.
Maroons will kick off their 2024/25 campaign with a home match against UPDF in Luzira on Sunday, September 15.
