- Man City confirm addition of Brazilian teenager Vitor Reis
- Centre-back arrives for reported £29.4m fee
Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Palmeiras centre-back Vitor Reis.
Reis, 19, has attracted interest from some of Europe’s elite sides but City moved aggressively early in the transfer window to make the Brazilian a key part of their defensive overhaul.
Uzbekistan international Abdukodir Khusanov recently completed a £33.6m move from Lens and Reis has now followed him through the door for a reported £29.4m.
“I’m excited to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he told club media. “Everyone has seen the amazing achievements in recent seasons, and I want to make my mark as we seek more trophies.
“Working with Pep Guardiola is something every young player wants to do, and I know he can help me to develop into the best player I can be.
“City also have a lot of experience of working with Brazilian footballers and joining the likes of Ederson and Savinho in the squad will be a big help to me.”
