Uganda Premier League Matchday 5 Fixtures:

    Wednesday 16th October, 2024

Lugazi FC vs Mbale Heroes – 4pm

Police FC vs Express FC – 4pm

The Uganda Premier League returns after a 10-day break with a highly anticipated midweek fixture as Lugazi FC welcomes Mbale Heroes FC on Wednesday, 16th October, at Lugazi FC Stadium. Kickoff is at 4 PM.

Both teams, newcomers to the top tier, find themselves in desperate need of points as they seek to solidify their positions in the league.

Lugazi FC has struggled to find its footing, having yet to register a win in the four games played so far. The team sits at the bottom of the table with just one point, earned in a goalless draw against Vipers SC at home.

Mbale Heroes, on the other hand, have managed to collect three points from a crucial victory against SC Villa at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

However, they have also suffered three defeats, leaving them in 13th position with just a slight edge over their Wednesday rivals.

This match holds significant importance for both sides. Lugazi FC will be looking to claim their first win of the season, while Mbale Heroes, under new head coach Asaph Mwebaze, are eager to build momentum.

Mwebaze recently took over the reins from Richard Malinga, marking his second stint at the Mbale-based club, having led them in last season’s FUFA Big League.

Fans will recall that the last time these two teams faced off at Lugazi FC Stadium, Mbale Heroes secured a 2-1 victory. Lugazi FC will be determined to avoid a repeat and claim valuable points on home soil.

Meanwhile, in another Premier League fixture on the same day, Police FC will host Express FC at Kavumba Recreation Grounds, also kicking off at 4 PM.

This Wednesday promises to be a thrilling day of football, as both Lugazi FC and Mbale Heroes FC fight to turn their seasons around.
