Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC has strengthened their midfield ranks with the acquisition of former SC Villa star Umar Lutalo.
The Royals have secured Lutalo on a one-year contract, adding a proven talent to their squad.
Kitara has beaten strong competition from KCCA, Vipers and SC Villa who have been in talks with the player’s representatives.
Lutalo played a pivotal role in SC Villa’s successful 2023-24 season, contributing significantly to their championship-winning campaign.
Following their title triumph, Lutalo sought a move abroad but was unable to secure a European transfer.
Kitara has been actively strengthening their squad during the transfer window, with Lutalo’s signing adding another quality player to their roster.
Other notable additions include Ronald Otti, Marvin Nyanzi, Moses Sseruyidde, Denis Mande, Douglas Oyirwoth, and Fred Amaku.
The Royals are coming off a convincing 3-1 victory over Lugazi FC and will look to build on their momentum as they face NEC in their next league match.
