Kabon Living and Patrick Kaddu were on target as Kitara FC secured a 2-0 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars at Royal Park Stadium, Butema, on Monday. The win propelled the Royals four places up to fifth in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table, continuing their steady rise after a volatile start to the season.
Kitara are now level on 25 points with Express FC after registering seven wins in 17 matches. They remain 12 points behind league leaders Vipers SC.
Meanwhile, Bright Stars’ struggles continued, as they remain second from the bottom with just 11 points from 17 games.
Kabon opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, tapping in after George Ssenkaaba flicked on Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye’s corner. Kaddu sealed the victory in the 89th minute, finishing off a well-worked move involving John Byaruhanga.
