KCCA will battle regional side Rwenzori Lions for a coveted spot in the Uganda Cup quarterfinals in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter under the Lugogo floodlights.
With their league title hopes faltering, KCCA have shifted their focus to the Uganda Cup, a competition that now holds even greater significance for them. Head coach Abdallah Mubiru has called for full concentration from his squad, emphasizing the club’s ambition.
“We respect our opponents, but our goals in this competition are far bigger than theirs,” Mubiru stated. “For Rwenzori Lions, reaching this stage is an achievement. For us, only lifting the Uganda Cup will meet our expectations.”
KCCA will be without key players Gavin Kizito and Brian Ijara, who are away on national duty, while Mustafa Mujuzi and Steven Munguchi remain sidelined due to injuries.
However, the team has been boosted by the return of captain Julius Poloto, the dynamic winger Ettiene Katenga, and the dependable centre-back Hassan Muhamood—key reinforcements as they push for cup glory
