KCCA CEO Slams FUFA Appeals Committee Over Gavin Kizito Ruling

KCCA FC CEO Anisha Muhoozi has strongly condemned the FUFA Appeals Committee’s decision to dismiss the club’s appeal against the forfeiture of their match against Mbarara City.

In an audio statement shared by the club, Muhoozi expressed deep frustration with the committee’s reasoning, particularly its stance on KCCA’s alleged failure to consult the FUFA Competitions Board regarding the eligibility of defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri.

“It is absurd that the FUFA Appeals Committee has come up with such a ruling,” Muhoozi said. “Their justification is that KCCA didn’t consult the FUFA Competitions Board. I question whether they even understand how the game is being run.”

She further criticized the committee’s logic, arguing that KCCA had already received player eligibility confirmation from the Uganda Premier League (UPL), which should have been sufficient.

“This decision suggests that the Uganda Premier League does not operate on behalf of the Federation, or worse, that FUFA is disowning the UPL altogether—despite us having valid confirmation from them.”

The ruling has left KCCA officials and supporters frustrated, as the club maintains it followed proper procedures in verifying player eligibility.

“I am at a complete loss for words. I don’t even know what to think,” Muhoozi added. “How do we move forward if the FUFA Appeals Committee values club records over records that have been confirmed by the FUFA Competitions Department? It’s very absurd.”

Despite KCCA’s objections, the FUFA Appeals Committee upheld its stance, emphasizing that clubs are solely responsible for ensuring they field eligible players and that competition regulations must be strictly followed.

With the appeal now dismissed, KCCA has officially forfeited the match against Mbarara City—a ruling that further complicates their title chase.
