The FUFA Big League Matchday 6 delivered drama and determination as clubs intensified their pursuit of promotion to the top tier.

At Betherm City Playground, Kiyinda Boys FC finally celebrated their first victory of the campaign, overcoming Young Elephant Academy FC 2-1 in a spirited contest.

Defender Michael Kimera broke the deadlock just eight minutes into the game, handing the hosts an early advantage.

The momentum stayed with Kiyinda Boys as Jimmy Ndalambi doubled the tally ten minutes later to put them in firm control.

However, Young Elephant reduced the deficit with a goal shortly before halftime, ensuring a tense second period.

Despite both sides creating a flurry of opportunities after the break, neither could find the back of the net again.

The result gave Kiyinda Boys a long-awaited boost, though they remain anchored at the bottom of the standings with five points from six outings, level on points with Young Elephant, who sit just above them.

Elsewhere, Solitilo Bright Stars and Kigezi HomeBoyz played out a cagey goalless draw, while Kaaro Karungi settled for a 1-1 stalemate against Nebbi Central.

At Mbale Municipal Stadium, Kataka FC also shared spoils with Blacks Power FC in another 1-1 result.

Ntugasaze SC were the biggest winners of the round, cruising past Mbale Heroes with a resounding 3-0 triumph. Meanwhile, Wakiso Giants continued their impressive unbeaten run, edging Paida Black Angels 1-0 to stretch their streak to six games.

The league action resumes on Thursday, November 12, with Onduparaka FC hosting Kiyinda Boys, as Nebbi Central square off against Kigezi HomeBoyz FC.
