Onduparaka FC secured their first victory of the FUFA Big League season on Sunday, October 20th, with a 2-1 triumph over MYDA FC at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua.
Veteran forward Samson Ceasor Okhuti was the hero of the day, scoring both goals to lead his team to a hard-fought win.
The match saw its first goal just before halftime when Okhuti curled in a beautiful free-kick to give Onduparaka the lead.
The home side looked set to carry their advantage into the break, but MYDA FC remained resilient and came back stronger in the second half.
MYDA’s efforts were rewarded in the 68th minute when Eric Kamuhanda found the equalizer, bringing the game to 1-1.
However, the celebrations were short-lived as Onduparaka regained control of the match as Okhuti struck again in the 70th minute, coolly finishing off a chance to restore Onduparaka’s lead.
With the win, Onduparaka ascends to 7th place with four points on the 15-team log after four games, while MYDA FC continues to struggle, languishing in second-to-last place with only one point.
