In a thrilling encounter at Pece Stadium, Gulu, Arua Hill SC celebrated their maiden victory of the ongoing FUFA Big League season, securing a 2-0 win over Kataka FC on Thursday, October 24.

The Kongolos showed resilience and determination, breaking their two-game losing streak with impressive goals from Okot Simon and Charles Akena.

The match opened with intense pressure from both sides, but Arua Hill SC found the breakthrough in the 26th minute when Okot Simon scored, giving the team their first lead of the season.

Just six minutes later, Charles Akena capitalized on an opportunity to double the lead, ensuring Arua Hill’s control over the game.

This win marks Arua Hill SC’s third game of the season, following defeats in their opening two matches against Blacks Power (1-0) and Kaaro Karungi (3-1).

Despite this crucial victory, the Kongolos remain in the relegation zone, positioned 13th on the table with three points, highlighting the challenges they face in climbing up the standings.

On the other hand, Kataka FC, who had won their previous game 1-0 against Booma FC and drawn 1-1 with Busoga United in the season opener, experienced their first defeat.

The result leaves Kataka FC in 7th place with four points, maintaining a steady but cautious position as the league progresses.

The FUFA Big League action continues on Saturday, October 26, as Ntungasaze prepares to host Onduparaka FC at the Mutyana Saza grounds.
