Express FC have secured the services of goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa on a one-year contract. Kalyowa, who was a free agent, recently left Rwanda Premier League side Kiyovu Sports last season.
The seasoned shot-stopper recently took legal action against Kiyovu Sports, filing a case with the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber over the unlawful termination of his three-year contract.
Kalyowa’s arrival at Express FC fills the gap left by Abdul Kimera, who departed the club after two seasons. He joins an already strong goalkeeping lineup that includes Baker Yunus and fellow newcomer Michael Kagiri.
Kalyowa brings a wealth of experience, having played for several clubs, including BUL FC, SC Victoria University, Kyetume FC, URA FC, and Kenya’s Sofapaka. His standout performance was in 2022 when he won the Best Goalkeeper Award as BUL FC clinched the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
