The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially named Egypt as the host nation for the 2025 TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations, following Côte d’Ivoire’s withdrawal.
Initially awarded the hosting rights, Côte d’Ivoire was forced to step down due to unforeseen challenges, as confirmed by the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) and the Ivorian government. With Egypt having previously submitted a bid, the North African powerhouse stepped in to ensure the tournament proceeds as scheduled.
The competition will kick off on Sunday, April 27, 2025, with the final set for Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Egypt’s selection further cements its legacy as a key destination for African football tournaments. The U20 Africa Cup of Nations will serve as a crucial platform for emerging talents across the continent, offering young players the chance to shine on the international stage and make their mark in African football.
