Striker Derrick Nsibambi has expressed his excitement about returning to his boyhood club, KCCA FC, on a two-year contract that runs until June 2026.

“I am delighted to be back home, where my journey began,” Nsibambi shared. “After speaking with the coach, I immediately agreed to return because I understand the club’s culture and what it means to the fans. I’m eager to be part of it once more,” he added, according to a statement on the KCCA FC website.

Nsibambi first joined the 13-time Uganda Premier League champions in 2014, making his professional debut under the current head coach, Abdallah Mubiru.

The forward is fondly remembered for his late goal against Egypt’s Al Masry in 2017, which helped KCCA FC secure a crucial first-leg advantage in the CAF Confederation Cup. The club went on to make history by becoming the first Ugandan team to reach the group stages of the competition.

In addition to his club success, Nsibambi has represented the Uganda national team in various tournaments, including CECAFA, CHAN, and AFCON qualifiers. His career also spans stints with clubs in Egypt (Smouha), Ethiopia (Sebeta FC), Uganda (URA FC), Oman (Al-Bashaeer), and Kenya (Bandali).
