The highly anticipated City Tyres East Africa Badminton Challenge is set to make a comeback this October.
The seventh edition of the tournament will be held from October 17 to 20 at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala.
The event was officially launched at a colourful ceremony held at the City Tyres head offices on Wednesday, September 18.
Uganda Badminton Association President Annet Nakamya expressed her confidence in the success of the tournament, citing the continued support from the Mandela Group of Companies.
“I am confident that we are going to hold a better and bigger successful tournament of badminton,” she stated.
Mandela Group of Companies Chief Marketing Officer Herbert Bashasha reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the tournament.
“We are ready and going to fully sponsor the tournament. This is the seventh time we are doing so, and the experience has been worthwhile,” he said.
The annual tournament attracts players from across East Africa, including Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, DR Congo, Burundi, and South Sudan.
The participants will compete for a range of prizes and valuable experience.
