Born Talent FC, a football club based in Nakawa Division, Kampala, has officially revealed their squad ahead of their debut in the 2024/25 Kampala Region League.
The unveiling marks a significant milestone for the team, which recently earned promotion after dominating the Nakawa 4th Division League.
This achievement has fueled excitement among both the players and fans, as the club aims to establish itself as a formidable contender at this new competitive level.
The squad announcement introduced a blend of experienced players and promising young talent. The team will rely on three goalkeepers: Lubowa Richard, Kawunde Kenny, and Mulondo Richard, all of whom are expected to provide a solid last line of defense.
In defense, the team boasts a robust lineup, including Bwire Bashir, Byekwaso Fred, Yowabu Ibrahim, Musinguzi Gaddafi, Matovu Ivan, Ntabazi Saul, Anduma Robert, and Muwanguzi Kamani, who will be crucial in maintaining the team’s defensive stability.
The midfield is packed with creativity and energy, led by Matsanga Emmanuel, Ssebulime Samuel, Kirya Steven, Kayongo Ronald, Kisulani Maxwell, Wagana Eric, Serungoji Joel, and Bogere Joash. These midfielders will be key in dictating the tempo of play and connecting defense with attack.
Up front, the forwards, Isoloza Geofrey, Sekanwagi Paul, Mbonimpa Brian, Okwir Jabez, Odeke Edmond, Mutete Abudala, and Matovu Ivan are expected to lead the charge in finding the back of the net.
The technical staff also brings a wealth of experience to Born Talent FC’s campaign. Head coach Agaba Denis, who has been entrusted with the team’s tactical direction, will be assisted by Lubangakene Godfrey.
The club’s commitment to nurturing young talent is underscored by the appointment of Sekitole John as Youth Coach, while Selyazi Fred will oversee the goalkeepers, and Ssenungi George takes on the role of Fitness Coach, ensuring that players are in peak condition throughout the season.
At the squad unveiling event, team chairman Okong Morris expressed his confidence and optimism for the future of the club. “We have broad objectives towards this team,” Okong declared.
“We are playing to qualify for higher levels. Our ultimate goal is to reach the FIFA Big League and eventually the Premier League, and that’s our core mission.”
He added, “We also have a clear focus on talent development, both within Uganda and beyond its borders. This squad has what it takes to make a significant impact, and I am confident that every player will contribute massively to our success this season.”
The chairman emphasized that the team is well-prepared for the challenges ahead, stating, “We are 100% ready for the competition. The unveiling today marks the start of what we believe will be a successful campaign.”
Born Talent FC is seeded in the Scorpion Group for the upcoming Kampala Region League and will face strong competition from eleven other teams.
The team’s first test comes on Sunday, 20th November, when they host Lungujja Galaxy FC at Kyambogo College Grounds in what promises to be an exciting opening match.
